Steam Summer Sale edition

Let's talk indie games!

Hello indie game fans!

Have you seen the Steam Summer Sale?! I'm sure we all have. Over the weekend I made the mistake of checking out my Steam wishlist to see what was on sale. It felt like everything was on sale and I got a bit of decision paralysis. So, I thought for this month I'd focus on games I love that are currently discounted on Steam, and hopefully you'll find something new to love!

Which brings me to my favourite game of last month!

Recently I've been playing... Jenny LeClue: Detectivu

Jenny is a brilliant young amateur detective, but so far her biggest case has been the case of the missing sunglasses! Boring! Idyllic Arthurton is full of charm, but nothing exciting ever happens there! Or so Jenny thinks.

Fortunately, for Jenny, someone turns up dead! Less fortunate for the deceased, and her Mum is also suspect number one! Finally, it’s Jenny’s time to shine as she’ll do anything to prove her Mum’s innocence.

I'm sad to say I let Jenny LeClue languish away in my backlog for too long! It is such a great little point and click mystery game, and the art style gives me big Oxenfree vibes.

If you're keen for a cosy murder mystery, Jenny LeClue is currently 75% off on Steam. If you still want to know more, here is my full review.

Less than 10 - The Final Farewell

Did you know that the majority of games released each week have less than 10 reviews? That is hundreds of games with reduced visibility on Steam! Let's change that with this featured game.

In The Final Farewell you wake up confused. You can't remember what you were just doing, where you are or even who you are. There is a nice big shiny shrine in front of you though, and going through it feels like the right thing to do.

That's when you realise you're a ghost and there are people on the other side of the shrine who can't remember things either. Help them remember and, in turn they might be able to help you too.

The Final Farewell is a game about death and grief and dealing with losing someone close to you, but also remembering the little things.

The Final Farewell is currently 20% off on Steam.

Thanks to Ellie of The Cozy Gaming Club for the recommendation!

Do you know a game with less than 10 reviews? Reply and tell me about it!

You've made it to the end of the newsletter! There are heaps of games I didn't get to mention in this months newsletter. Do you have a favourite upcoming release I didn't mention?

Until next time,

Let's talk indie games! Hello indie game fans!I'm dragging myself away from Stardew Valley to bring you this months email. I hadn't played it in five years, and now it's all I've played in the last week (or more). There is just so much more to do and find since I last played! Another Crab's Treasure has been calling but Stardew continues to win the battle. I plan on marrying Harvey, just in case you wanted to know. I've never married him before because, well, he just seems a bit dull....

Let's talk indie games! Hello indie game fans!March has only just begun, but it's looking like a huge month for indie game releases! It was incredibly difficult to choose only three, but these are the ones I'm looking forward to the most. As for last month, I've been struggling with a shoulder injury which unfortunately starts to ache when playing games with keyboard and mouse. Luckily, I have a controller, but of course I was drawn to games that prefer keyboard and mouse like A Little to the...

Let's talk indie games! Hello indie game fans! This newsletter is a bit late! That's because I decided to include some Steam Next Fest demos for you to check out in case you're completely overwhelmed. There are so many of them! More than 1000 I hear. Usually, I recommend story rich demos, but this time it's been different. I've been drawn to sims and platformers. What have been your favourites from the festival? Not everything has been Next Fest, though. So what else have I been playing?...
